Hatha Yoga in Tampa

The Sanskrit word हठ hatha literally means “force” and thus alludes to a system of physical techniques. Hatha is the branch of yoga in which we use the physical practices – including postures, breathwork, and meditation– to build better control of our thoughts in order to move ultimately toward union of our body, mind, and soul.

In our yoga practice, we strive to balance the seemingly-dualistic aspects of body and mind, with the understanding that these polarities are a natural part of life and are always in fluctuation.  In this awareness, we strive to move toward greater harmony while also increasing our understanding of and identification with the greater principles that transcend these dualities.

Hatha yoga is a path toward creating balance and uniting opposites. In our physical bodies,  we develop a balance of strength and flexibility. We also learn to balance our effort and surrender in each pose.

Our Hatha Yoga class offers a focus on stress relief, stretching, and strengthening through body and breath awareness. Expect to flow slowly and mindfully – all levels welcome! From newer yogis to those looking to play with their personal edge. You’ll leave feeling relaxed and ready for whatever life has in store for you.

Yin Yoga

Most forms of yoga are dynamic, active practices designed to work only half of our body, the muscular “yang” tissue. Yin Yoga safely works the other half of the body, the deeper tissues of our ligaments, joints and fascial networks. Yin is a slower, more introspective practice, and a great compliment to any yang activity.  This practice is open to all levels.

Vinyasa & Slow Flow

Moving a bit faster now!! These two classes are rooted in Hatha Yoga but focus on flowing from pose-to-pose in with the breath.  It's this union of breath and movement fosters a sense of being present in the moment.

Vinyasa classes will move faster than Slow Flow classes.  Both practices will bring students into a meditation in motion.
