In this two-hour workshop, Danielle and Andrea will give an overview of each limb through the lens of the path of yoga as an art and science dedicated to creating union between body, mind, and spirit. Our objective is to assist the practitioner in using the breath and body to cultivate an awareness of ourselves as human beings intimately connected to the unified whole of creation.

Explore the Eight Limbs of Yoga
Yoga is an ancient practice that has survived through the millennia. While most of us are familiar with the 3rd limb of yoga, Asana or the physical poses, it is just one aspect of the overall philosophy of yoga.
Over 2500 years ago, the sage Patanjali compiled a book called the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali to give an introduction to the practice of the Eight Limbs of Yoga.
These eight steps, commonly known as the 8 limbs of yoga, basically act as guidelines on how to live a meaningful and purposeful life. They serve as a prescription for moral and ethical conduct and self-discipline; they direct attention toward one’s health; and they help us to acknowledge the spiritual aspects of our nature.
