Relaxation & Serenity
Restorative yoga is a completely different experience than most other styles of yoga. This restful practice is all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching. During a restorative practice, there will be minimal movements. Students hold yoga poses (asanas) for a longer duration using props like yoga blocks, blankets, and bolsters. It is a practice of deep relaxation that emphasizes the meditative aspect of yoga—the union of body and mind. Through the use of props for support, many of the postures are held almost effortlessly.
The relaxation and openness of restorative yoga perfectly primes the body to experience Reiki energy healing. Reiki therapy is based on an Eastern belief that vital energy flows through your body. Reiki practitioners use gentle touch -- or places their hands just above your body -- to help guide this energy in a way that promotes balance and healing.
Relearn the art of relaxation while developing the skills and abilities to self-soothe. By helping us learn to relax, restorative yoga can also reduce the production of stress hormones (cortisol and adrenaline), improve the function of our immune system, reduce muscle tension, help with insomnia, and so many other vital benefits. Allow the wisdom of Reiki therapy to guide energy in your body to promote self-healing and wellness.
